Los Angeles’s City Hall was evacuated after a car crashed into the steps of the building on Friday afternoon, according to officials.
Approximately two hours after the crash, the driver was seen exiting the vehicle, walking with his arms raised towards a line of police and fire vehicles. He was subsequently handcuffed.
There were no immediate reports of injuries, according to police. LA Mayor Karen Bass, in a post on the social platform X, said that the Los Angeles Police Department bomb squad had arrived at the crash site, adding that the situation had been “safely resolved.”
