NEW DELHI: Supreme Court Friday refused to entertain a PIL seeking a probe into allegations made by US-based short-seller Viceroy Research LLC against Vedanta Limited , Hindustan Zinc Limited and related entities.
A bench of Justices P S Narasimha and A S Chandurkar said that it was not inclined to entertain the matter and a PIL petitioner thereafter withdrew the petition.
Senior advocate Gopal Sankaranarayanan , appearing for the petitioner, submitted that at least securities and exchange board of India ( SEBI ) and Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) should be asked to act on complaints that had already been lodged with them but the SC turned down the plea.
