Major Emmerdale character 'killed off' as April Windsor holds dying dad in her arms

Emmerdale fans were left in tears as they watched Marlon Dingle die in his daughter April Windsor's arms after being shot by drug dealer Ray Walters. In a special episode, April told her dad everything that had happened, including her killing her 'client' by smashing him over the head with a vodka bottle.

In tonight's episode (November 4), April was left shell-shocked as Ray turned up to her house after Marlon threatened to call the police. The truth came out about everything - April's drug debt, Celia selling her for sex and Dylan's connection to it all. But when Marlon held the phone to dial 999, Ray fatally shot him in the chest.

April rushed to Marlon's side and found her hands covered in blood as she begged him to stay with her. But sadly viewers watched Marlon take his last breath.

However, there was a twist in store, as a clever camera trick revealed it had all been a figment of April's imagination - and she had daydreamed the whole thing after wanting to come clean to her dad about what was happening.

Ultimately, she never told him anything - and Celia and Ray are still at large.

Fans were left in tears over the special episode, with one writing on X: "Emmerdale!!!! No, why, just why?! My emotional state has hit me way too much here. That special episode with April and Marlon was something else... just wow, powerful."
