BBC's The Inner Circle presenter Amanda Holden sparked concern when she returned to her Heart Radio show suffering the effects of an injury received during an incident in her home. The 54-year-old mum of two said she was "swollen and infected" and had to be seen by doctors in the middle of the show. Explaining what had happened the Britain's Got Talent judge said she had intervened in a scrap between her 15-year-old cat Muffy and her new moggy Bolt who she rescued from Corfu and came out the worse for wear.
"Oh my gosh, well, I've been attacked by my own cat, not my rescue [cat], who is very sweet and is trying to be subservient with our Princess who is 15, [but] she is absolutely not having it. And yesterday they came across each other, we've been keeping them very separate. And I put my hand in, because they started fighting, and I had to try and separate them. I've never seen anything like it and my own cat got hold of my wrist with her teeth, and I literally lifted my arm in the air and she was still on it," she revealed.
As a result the star said her wrist had "doubled in size" and was feeling "red hot" and she couldn't move it. She also claimed to be suffering with a "massive headache" and finding it difficult to "string a sentence together."
"I've got no eye makeup on, I normally turn up looking like Claudia Winkleman every morning, and I need a tetanus jab for sure. I can't move my hand," she continued.
While she was uncertain if her sytoms releated to the injury co-host Jamie Theakston announced she was going to be examined by a doctor as she protested: "Honestly, this is an outrage."
However it appeared the concerns were justified as later in the programme she revealed she had been given medication to treat the infection.

"I've seen a doctor and he's prescribed two sets of antibiotics to cover the possible bacterial range, but apparently cats are full of horrible bacteria, because I can't move my wrist.
"He said in my life I've probably had five tetanus [jabs], he's hoping, so therefore you're covered for life."
Despite the concern of her colleague and the listeners Amanda confessed her husband of 16 years Chris Hughes wasn't quite as sympathetic to her plight.
"I've just had a text from my husband saying I've really milked my cat bite this morning. He didn't even realise that he's done a little bit of a pun there. I haven't milked it, it's serious!" she quipped
