Thekua: It is traditional to make Thekua Prasad on Chhath Mahaparva. It is also called Khajuria or Thikari. Thekua is prepared from jaggery and flour. There is a religious belief that including Thekua in the puja thali brings happiness to one's life and makes the puja successful.
Dab Lemon: Dab lemon is also included as Prasad during Chhath Puja. A dab lemon is larger than a regular lemon and has a sweet and sour taste. Its size is so large that animals and birds cannot eat it. Therefore, it is considered pure.
Kharna Bhog: On the second day of Chhath Puja, a kheer made of milk, rice, and jaggery is prepared for Kharna Puja. This kheer is distributed among the fasting person and family members.
Rice Laddoo: If you want to please Chhathi Maiya and the Sun God, you can also make rice ladoo. This offering is considered a favorite of Chhathi Maiya. They are easy to prepare.
Banana: It is said that Chhathi Maiya loves bananas very much. Banana is also considered a very pure fruit. Therefore, raw bananas are considered auspicious for offering to Chhathi Maiya. Raw bananas are brought home and ripened during the puja to prevent them from becoming stale.
Sugarcane: Sugarcane plays a significant role in Chhath Puja. Sugarcane is also used to decorate the puja site. It is believed that Chhathi Maiya loves sugarcane very much. Furthermore, sugarcane is considered extremely pure because no animals or birds sit on it.
Coconut: Coconuts are also a must-have offering during Chhath Puja. It is said that offering coconuts brings Lakshmi to the home.
Suthni: Suthni grows from the soil, so it is considered extremely pure. Suthni is also used in Chhath Puja. Suthni is edible like sweet potato.
Water chestnut: Water chestnut is hard, so animals and birds cannot spoil it. It is also a favorite fruit of Goddess Lakshmi. Due to its purity, it holds great importance in Chhath Puja.
