It often happens that after watching a great Reel, we can't find it again. This is because we scroll through content very quickly on social media platforms, and our feeds are constantly changing. In such a situation, the social media platform Instagram has launched a feature that every user has been waiting for. Now, users will be able to easily rewatch Reels they previously viewed but didn't save. This new feature, called "Watch History," has been officially launched.
You won't lose your favorite Reels anymore.
Instagram head Adam Mosseri said that this feature is especially for users who are unable to find a Reel later. He explained, "If you watched a Reel and can't find it later, you can now easily find it with the 'Watch History' feature. Simply go to your 'Profile', open 'Settings', then go to 'Watch History' under 'Your Activity', and there you will find all the Reels you've watched."
How to use the Watch History feature:
Open the Instagram app and go to your profile. Go to Settings and select "Your Activity." Click on "Watch History." You'll now see a list of all your watched Reels. Users can filter Reels by date, week, or month. If you want to remove a video from your history, it can also be deleted.
More Feature-Rich Than TikTok
While this feature already exists on TikTok, Instagram has made it more feature-rich and flexible. Users can sort Reels not only by date but also in chronological or reverse chronological order. Reels can also be searched by creator name.
Why was this feature introduced?
Many users had been demanding this feature for a long time. Previously, if a Reel was accidentally missed, users had to download the app's data and search for it. This was a lengthy and cumbersome process. The new Watch History feature has simplified this process, making it easier than ever for users to access their favorite content.
New Reels Updates Also Added
Instagram has released several updates in recent months to further enhance Reels. For example, the Reels Stories feature now allows creators to combine multiple Reels into a series. Picture-in-Picture mode allows users to use other apps while watching videos. These updates clearly indicate that Meta is aiming to make Instagram a strong alternative to TikTok.
